This one mysterious image called ‘rise’ has been the most consistently viewed and admired image in my portfolio. In it a beautiful girl with her halo of golden hair is crouched down about to rise up and present her beauty to the world. But if you look really closely however you will see that in her crotch is a just visible camera…... this girl is a long way of being a passive vehicle for the gaze of viewer….. she contains the ability to rise up and answer back….... so she is a metaphor for strength and beauty in life as expressed through the medium of Art.
